Kansas City, MO – Butch Rigby, owner and operator of the Screenland Granada Theater, with the Kansas City Film Critics Circle, announce “The Robert Altman Film Festival”, a three-day celebration of the legendary filmmaker at the Granada Theater, 1015 Minnesota Avenue, downtown Kansas City, Kansas. The Granada will show six of Altman’s critically acclaimed films during the weekend of April 27th through April 29th. The films will be sponsored by local businesses and organizations, with proceeds to benefit the Film Society of Greater Kansas City. Confirmed films are “Kansas City,” “The Player,” “Short Cuts,” “M*A*S*H,” and “A Prairie Home Companion,” with more titles to come. The Festival will open at 7 p.m. on Friday April 27th, with a public reception at the Granada, followed by a screening of “Kansas City” at 8:00 p.m.. Tickets are $8 per show, with Festival Passes offered at a discounted rate of $20.
