Mitch McVicker joins Christian Independent Alliance–tax deductable donations now possible

Mitch McVicker

www.cialliance.org

http://www.mitchmcvicker.com/

I have some exciting news to share. It is my hope and prayer that it is also exciting for you.

It is now possible to make a tax-deductible contribution to my musical-ministry endeavors. This means that upon making a donation, you will receive a receipt for your tax records.

I recently became one of the charter members of CIA (Christian Independent Alliance). It is through the CIA website that your contribution is made. CIAis set up as a 501c3, therefore donations are tax-deductible and receipts can be issued.

Your contribution does not to CIA’s general fund. Rather, the money goes into an account that is designated solely for my ministry. This way all the contributions are accounted for, earmarked for ministry-oriented use, and sent to me.

We will truly be partners together in ministry. Over the years, many of you have been financially supportive through your generosity in many ways without having record of it. Now this is possible through an exciting development. In the past, I have been unable to develop a scenario to make tax-deductible support possible, now CIA is simply enabling me to present this as an option.

Please know that your contribution will not go towards diapers, movies, or carpet cleanings. Rather it will be in direct support of my calling. It will help fund things such as:
-Tour and travel expenses
-Musical and sound equipment
-Tour Vehicle maintenance
-Payments to tour musicians
-Promotional efforts (radio, publicity, press/info packets, posters)
-Recording costs

This site is very user friendly, and I can really appreciate the short amount of time that it takes to fill out the simple form and complete this process. It only takes a minute.

A little background about my situation…to hopefully bring some clarity to the reason I am asking for your financial support.

For all intents and purposes, I am independent. This is nothing new, rather, it’s the position I have been in for most of my career.

I funded my latest CD, Love Will Rise, and gave it to Surrogate Records in return for promotion. Their role was to promote Love Will Rise in ways that I could not. As many of you know, Surrogate Records has been unable to put what they had committed to and intended to into the life of the CD due to financial difficulties.

Please understand that I am NOT badmouthing Surrogate. I am thankful for our relationship and for the hearts behind the company.

Many good things are happening for Love Will Rise in the worlds of radio and publicity. It costs money to keep that momentum going. Surrogate introduced me to those “worlds” like never before, but now I am funding those pursuits myself.

This (along with the general operating expenses that have always existed) has motivated me to call on the generosity I have experienced from so many of you in the past.

This is my vocation. I have no other source of income.

This is an investment in me. I take that very seriously. Why? Because it is actually an investment in what the Lord is doing. The Lord has given much. The Lord has entrusted me with gifts. Now, you are coming along side me to encourage and enable my response to God’s faithfulness.

Your tax-deductible support can be a one-time donation, or it can be long term.

If you are willing to commit to making a contribution each month, each quarter, bi-yearly, yearly, etc, simply respond to this email and let me know of what you are willing to invest and what time frame you would prefer to use. A reminder email (that will double as a general update) will be sent to you at the first of each month.

This is not in the name of business. Rather, it is in the name of being faithful to what the Lord is doing in me. I am not interested in riches or fame (If I were, I would find something else to do). I am trying to make a dent for the Kingdom.

The world is used by money. Contrarily, the Kingdom of God uses money to further itself. It is for this reason that I believe money is even more important in the Kingdom of God and needed even more than it is in the world. I want to be about the building of the Kingdom.

It costs money to make a dent. We are told in the scriptures that the return is a hundred fold. I would be honored if you came along side to partner with me in this work.

God uses us all in different ways. I am ecstatic to be used in this manner. God calls us all in different ways to different things. I am grateful for the Call.

I don’t use the word “call” in a hyper-spiritual way, but in the way Frederich Buechner defines the word. He says, our call happens when the world’s greatest need and our greatest joy meet.

For me, that’s it. I know the last thing the world needs is another Christian musician. But, I DO KNOW the world needs the truth. I am using the means I have been given to put the truth out there and direct people’s attention towards the truth. I love doing this.

Thank you in advance. Please ponder prayerfully…

I am grateful for whatever you can contribute to what I am doing…for whatever you can contribute to what the Lord is doing.

Peace of Christ
Mitch

P.S Please contact me if you have questions or concerns.

Now THIS is a cool coffeehouse lineup!

The Union announces spring 2008 music/art/film schedule.

Union Logo

March 21, 2008–– Acoustic singer/songwriters Justin McRoberts and Mitch McVicker hit town March 28 to kick off the spring 2008 music, film and art series at The Union, the downtown Naperville venue sponsored by the North Central College Christian Life Council that draws regular Friday night college-age crowds for spiritually significant music, film and art.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with how the spring lineup has come together,” said North Central College Director of Ministry and Service Jeremy Gudauskas, calling it “a weekly dose of music, film and art that will spark your heart and stir your soul.”

On March 28, San Franciscan McRoberts returns to The Union for the album release show for his new project “Deconstruction,” while Georgia-based McVicker brings along his bandmates to perform songs from his newly released album “Love will Rise.” The rest of The Union’s spring schedule brings:

* April 4: The Listening. The Union is delighted to have this band back for a third show with a new lease on life (and a van) after a near-death rollover accident after its last visit. Originally from Portland, Oregon, the Listening brings its amazing live experience to The Union fronted by sonic genius Gabriel Wilson. The band blends introspective lyrics with layers of psychedelic soundscapes—think Pink Floyd, Radiohead and Sigur Ros, but The Listening is more than a sum of its influences.
* April 11: Andrew Osgena, Jeremy Casella and Eric Peters, a trio of singer-songwriter friends from Nashville’s Square Peg Alliance. Osenga, currently with Caedmon’s Call and formerly of The Normals, brings his guitar-driven folk-rock back to The Union. Casella rides in on the tails of his highly acclaimed “disassembled acoustic folk-tronica” 2007 album “RCVRY,” and Peters joins in with his well-crafted songs and acoustic guitar.
* April 12: Intersection 2008. The Union hosts a morning kick-off rally and evening celebration for volunteers taking part in Intersection 2008, a daylong community service project benefiting five Naperville and Aurora social service agencies. For more information and to register, visit www.oneintersection.com.
* April 18: The Fold. The Chicago rock phenoms on Tooth and Nail Records perform fresh off their first European tour and a Grammy nomination for 2007’s “Secrets Keep You Sick.”
* April 25: Local Music Showcase.
* May 2: Film screening.
* May 9: Josh Garrels, with Ben Thomas and featuring Hear Us! Several of The Union’s most captivating performance moments have been courtesy of the Indianapolis-based Garrels. His unique blend of folk, hip-hop and electronic elements combine with passionate vocal delivery to create a fresh and deep musical experience. At work on a new album, Garrels returns to The Union for his third visit. Also appearing are local favorite Ben Thomas and a noteworthy campaign called Hear Us! featuring Diane Nilan, a leading national advocate for homeless youth.
* May 16: Local Art Showcase. Submissions wanted! The Union will transform its space into an art gallery to showcase original works from local artists. Contact The Union to submit paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, ceramics and more.
* May 23: The Union is taking suggestions for live performance picks to close out its spring series—“pending availability, budget and if we like them, too,” Gudauskas says. To display original works at the May 16 showcase, submit suggestions for the May 23 show and for times and ticket prices for all shows, visit The Union online or call Gudauskas at 630-637-5417.

Check out audio, video and images from past shows at the site and The Union on YouTube, and visit The Union at MySpace.

Local and nationally known musicians, filmmakers and artists visit and perform at The Union on Friday nights throughout the fall, winter and spring. Sponsored by The Christian Life Council at North Central College, The Union is a venue for spiritually significant expressions of music, film and art located in downtown Naperville. It is also a network of like-minded individuals, organizations and churches who work to build friendships, partnerships and collaboration among area ministries.

The Union is located at 129 W. Benton Ave., 1.5 blocks west of Washington Street and four blocks from North Central College and the downtown Naperville Metra stop.

CREATION FESTIVAL REVEALS PLANS TO TAKE UNIQUE SUMMER EXPERIENCE ACROSS THE COUNTRY THIS FALL VIA CREATION FESTIVAL: THE TOUR

Mini Creation On Wheels To Feature Seven Of Christian Music’s Hottest Bands, Including Kutless,Thousand Foot Krutch And Pillar, As Well As Speaker Bob Lenz

Medford, NJ (March 18, 2008) – Creation Festival, the nation’s largest Christian music festival and the premier name in Christian music events, is pleased to announce that it is expanding its brand once again to launch Creation Festival: The Tour. Kicking off in October, the “mini Creation on wheels” will allow fans across the country to experience a taste of the annual 4-day events held in June and July in one night of music, teaching and fun.

Headlining this one-of-a-kind event is BEC Recordings band, Kutless, with special guests, Thousand Foot Krutch and Pillar. The line up is rounded out by female-fronted rockers, Fireflight, as the opening band, Run Kid Run, and Integrity’s Worth Dying For providing a time of praise and worship. KJ-52 will also perform and serve as MC for the night. World-renowned speaker, Bob Lenz, will share the gospel each night, with Pastor Harry Thomas, Creation Festival director and co-founder and Teen Mania’s founder, Ron Luce, also joining the tour on select dates.

A special “pre-show” will kick off the event, featuring performances by Esterlyn and Children 18:3.

“We are excited to be a part of this ground-breaking tour,” exclaims Jon Micah Sumrall, frontman for Kutless. “It has been an amazing experience to play Creation – a festival we attended with our youth group when we were in high school – and now, to be invited to headline Creation Festival: The Tour, we could not be more honored! We are looking forward to heading out on the road and impacting lives together with the Creation folks and the other bands.”

As well as providing an exciting evening of great music, Creation Festival: The Tour is also very ministry oriented, with a local community outreach planned for each date. While the type of outreach will vary by date and may include activities such as clothing drops and food drives, every city will take part in having a direct positive impact on their community.

Pastor Harry Thomas, Creation Festival co-founder, explains: “Whenever Jesus came to a town, people became aware of God’s love for them. Our vision for Creation Festival: The Tour is to bless people spiritually and in practical ways. We want to go beyond the venue walls into the community with a touch of God’s love and good news!”

Several companies have partnered with Creation to make the Tour possible. Compassion International will serve as the ministry sponsor and Tooth & Nail Records, BEC Recordings and Interlinc have also come on board. Additional sponsors and their contribution will be announced soon.

“Our vision for this tour is to brand the Creation Festival model in a new and fresh way,” says Nick Kulb, tour producer and Creation Festival director of marketing & sales. “We have spent countless hours in creating not just another concert, but an event that has unique features and focuses heavily on the ministry component, which is the foremost purpose of everything we do.”

Creation Festival: The Tour will be currently being routed, with dates and cities to be announced soon.

Additional elements and highlights will be added to the tour, with many announcements forthcoming. For up to the minute information about Creation Festival: The Tour, please visit www.creationfesttour.com.
