SHOWBREAD’s Josh Dies plans a solo acoustic tour

Showbread front-man Josh Dies will be hitting the road this January and February for a national tour in which he will be performing acoustic sets, speaking and reading from his written work…

The tour will also commemorate the release of the new DIES EP “Talons”, Josh’s new children’s book “The Insect” and the first printing of his 2006 novel “The Spinal Cord Perception” in over 2 years.

Tour dates have been posted at myspace. com/showbread

Shows are generally pretty cheap and Josh is working to make each date a unique experience including a mostly request acoustic set (you can request songs by emailing joshuastephenporter@yahoo.com and including your name and the show you’re attending)… If the tour comes near you, please come see it.

Iona’s Joanne Hoagg releases new project, Raphael’s Journey

Joanne Hoagg, the voice of Iona, recently released  the downloadable project Raphael’s Journey, which she terms, “lullabies for adults.”

Musically, this album is a collection of songs with a few instrumentals. Frank Van Essen has been working with me on this for several years not only as producer, but also co-writing and playing. There are beautiful performances from all my mates in Iona, gorgeous string arrangements from Frank, beautiful guest vocals from the amazing Moya Brennan and piano and vocals from myself……so, please download it and tell others about it.”
Joanne Hogg

All the profits from Raphaels Journey will go to charities that help children in extreme poverty.
These include:
‘Adopt-a Child’ - working in Guatemala, Albania and Egypt.

‘The Uganda Jesus Village’ - part of the work of freshfire ministries.
‘Ray of Hope’ - working in the amazon.

Kevin Max CRASHING GATES EP

cover art- Tanner MorrowKevin Max returns December 9th with his latest recording, CRASHING GATES – an all-new 7-song studio recording that brings Max back to the passionate rock sounds that his fans have come to expect. This will be Max’s first release on the dPulse Recordings label. “This is where THE IMPOSTER left off,” says Max about the new project. “I view this EP as a more focused collection of songs about the Apocalypse.”

Joining with his frequent guitarists Erick Cole and Cary Barlow (of Luna Halo), and producer Jonathan Smith, Max recorded CRASHING GATES during a week of late-night sessions at X Marks the Spot Studios in the Green Hills area of Nashville. “The process was interesting, more like a band than any other effort I have done, to date,” says Max. “We cut the songs, playing together, and sometimes found ourselves jamming into 10 minute long vamp sections.” Max and his band will be touring the USA and Europe in support of CRASHING GATES, including upcoming dates in San Antonio, Dallas, Little Rock, Nashville, Bakersfield and Ballymena, Northern Ireland. “Rock and roll has always been the most interesting music to me, because it is simple and yet undeniably emotional at the same time,” summarizes Max. “I am excited to see how this project connects.”
